On October 25th, Glenn Maxwell made history in the World Cup by scoring the fastest century ever. In a match against the Netherlands, Maxwell stepped up to bat during the 40th over and played a remarkable innings. He scored 106 runs from just 44 balls, which included nine fours and eight powerful sixes.

Maxwell’s sensational 40-ball century caught the attention of fans and cricket enthusiasts around the world. He had a particular reason to celebrate as he was out for a golden duck in the previous match. He achieved this incredible feat in just 40 balls, which was nine balls faster than Aiden Markram’s previous record. Markram had achieved a 49-ball century against Sri Lanka a few weeks earlier at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

After scoring the century, Maxwell celebrated in a unique style. He dedicated this remarkable achievement to his newly born son, Logan Macverick Maxwell. Maxwell and his wife, Vini Raman, who has Indian heritage, welcomed their first child on September 15, 2023. Their journey of love began in March 2022 when they had a Christian-style wedding. Just five days later, they celebrated their marriage in a traditional Tamil-style wedding on March 27.
