In the third T20 match between India and Australia, things were going well for India, but a player named Glenn Maxwell changed the game. His powerful batting style helped Australia win the match by 5 wickets, with Maxwell scoring an unbeaten century.
Even though there are two more matches left in the T20 series, if India wins just one, they’ll win the series. Fans are worried that Maxwell might cause trouble again, but he won’t be playing, so that’s a relief for the Indian team.

After the World Cup, seven Australian players stayed in India for the T20 series. Now, six of them, including Maxwell, are heading back home. Even before the third T20, news came that some players, including Maxwell, wouldn’t be playing the last two matches.
Players like Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, Sean Abbott, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, etc., will return home and won’t play. This gives Team India a good chance to win the series. Josh Philippe and Ben McDermott are now part of the Australian team.

In the previous match in Guwahati, Glenn Maxwell played exceptionally and turned the match in Australia’s favor. Despite India scoring 222 runs, they couldn’t defend it, and Australia won, keeping the series open for both teams. The upcoming matches will show how Australia performs without their big names. The fourth T20 match is on December 1st in Raipur, and Shreyas Iyer will join Team India as vice-captain.
The Australia cricket team toured India in September, playing a three-match ODI series and then the 45-day World Cup 2023. They’ve been playing a five-match T20 series with India, and now, after three matches, Maxwell and others are returning home. Maxwell thanked Indian fans before leaving.

Besides Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Josh English, Shane Abbott, and Adam Zampa have also returned home. They’ve been on tour in India for the past two and a half months. These six players are resting as per the board’s decision and won’t be part of the last two matches. Maxwell had a great time in India, playing fantastic innings during the T20 series and the World Cup.
Maxwell recently shared a post on Instagram, showing a picture of Wankhede Stadium where he’s seen after scoring a double century against Afghanistan. In his post’s caption, he wrote, “Time to go home. Thank you India, it has been a memorable tour.”
In the Guwahati match, Maxwell’s innings of 104* runs in 48 balls played a key role in Australia reaching India’s target of 223 runs. This victory has kept the series alive for the Kangaroos.
