Harmanpreet Kaur said that playing in the WBBL and The Hundred helped her gain a lot of confidence and she hopes that the WPL (Women’s Premier League) will help Indian players in the same way and bring out their hidden talents.
“WPL is a great platform to get to know foreign players and gain from their experience. The amount of experience and confidence that I got playing in WBBL and The Hundred, I want to pass that on to young Indian domestic players,” the newly appointed Mumbai captain of the Indian women’s team told the media during a virtual interaction.

Harmanpreet said, “It is a great opportunity for them to spend time with foreign players. The WPL will also give me a chance to personally observe some young talents from close quarters.”
“I think it (WPL) is a good platform for all the Indian players. We have been missing this tournament for a long time. The WBBL in England and The Hundred have brought out so much hidden talent in Australia.” There’s definitely going to be some great talent,” she said.
Harmanpreet wants to unite everyone while leading MI to their maiden WPL title. He added, “For me, it is very important to support each and every member and give everyone a chance. Give them equal responsibility and respect. It is a great platform for us to perform, enjoy and support each other.”
Asked if she would feel the pressure of donning the MI jersey while captaining the team, the right-handed batsman replied: “Not at all, we are here to play cricket, keep doing things we enjoy, and express ourselves.”

Edwards expects a “massive impact” MI women’s team head coach Charlotte Edwards echoed similar sentiments and said that the WPL is going to have a “massive impact” on Indian cricket.
The former English cricketer said, “The Hundred is really special for women’s cricket. I can only hope that the WPL will only get bigger. It’s huge for Indian cricket, make the Indian team stronger for a few years.”
