The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the Team India squad that will face Australia in the upcoming five-match T20 series starting in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, November 23.

Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, the next generation stars have been entrusted with the task of conquering Australia.

After a disappointing campaign in the recent ODI World Cup 2023, India did not select many senior players in the 15-member squad, with only Suryakumar, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna and wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan being selected for the T20Is.

India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer will join the team for the last two matches in Raipur and Bengaluru and he will take over the role of vice-captain from Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Axar Patel has also got a place in the team after missing the World Cup 2023 due to a left quadriceps injury. And the left-arm spinner made a comeback to competitive cricket for Gujarat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last month where he played two matches against Punjab and Railways.
