Ind vs Aus World Cup 2023: When the Indian team won the fifth match of the World Cup 2023 at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, the heroes were KL Rahul and Virat Kohli (85). Rahul, who scored an unbeaten 97 runs, received the Player of the Match award for securing the victory with a six. KL Rahul shared how, after early wickets fell, he didn’t even have time for a bath.

India won the match by six wickets. In an interview with Star Sports after the game, KL Rahul said, ‘After spending 50 overs on the field, I needed some rest. I thought I would get it, but without wasting time, I had to get ready to bat. I even wanted to take a shower. I expected to have a 30-minute break, but I had to quickly prepare for batting.’

Rahul also shared the advice Virat Kohli gave him when he came to bat. Kohli mentioned that the pitch had a lot to offer, especially for the pacers with the new ball. Rahul mentioned that he’s been playing test matches lately, and dew played a significant role in the last 15-20 overs, making it more challenging. He emphasized that it wasn’t an easy pitch to play on and had something for both batsmen and bowlers.

KL Rahul sealed India’s win with a six but fell short of a century by just three runs. When asked about missing his century, he explained that he calculated how to reach 100 runs, but the only way was to hit fours and sixes. He didn’t have any regrets about missing the hundred.
