India vs Ireland T20I Series 2023: Get ready for some exciting cricket news! Team India is all set to have a fresh captain for their upcoming games in the United Kingdom (UK). Our star bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, will be leading the way as the captain of the Indian team when they face off against Ireland. This upcoming series is especially important because it marks the return of the experienced bowler, Bumrah, who had been away from the game for almost a whole year due to a back injury that kept bothering him.
Guess what? Our talented opener, Ruturaj Gaikwad, will be right by Bumrah’s side as the deputy captain for the Ireland series. Bumrah hasn’t played any competitive matches since the T20I series against Australia last September. He even missed out on the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup last year. Alongside Bumrah, another fast bowler, Prasidh Krishna, is making a comeback after recovering from a long-lasting injury. Prasidh had been out of action due to a stress fracture in his lower back, which he got during India’s tour to Zimbabwe in August last year.
The Indian team’s second-string squad also includes some promising players like Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube. Great news for fans of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mukesh Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Tilak Varma, Avesh Khan, and Sanju Samson – they’ve managed to retain their spots in the Indian T20I squad after the series against the West Indies. With Bumrah leading the way, the second-string Indian side is determined to make a strong comeback after their 3-2 loss to the West Indies in the Caribbean.
Unfortunately, we won’t see Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja, or Kuldeep Yadav in action this time. Instead, spinners Ravi Bishnoi, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Washington Sundar will be taking on the challenge of spinning the ball against Ireland. The excitement is building up as Bumrah’s Team India has already left for Ireland in preparation for the three-match T20I series set to take place in Dublin.
Here’s an interesting tidbit: Coach Rahul Dravid and NCA chief VVS Laxman won’t be traveling with the Indian team for the Ireland series. Instead, coaches Sitanshu Kotak and Sairaj Bahutule will be joining the team’s brain trust for India’s final white-ball series before the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2023. The stage is set, and the team is ready to make us proud once again!
