IPL 2024: As the IPL star auction is scheduled to take place on the 19th of next month, the list of players who have been left out of the auction by the defending champions Chennai Super Kings has been officially released. Eight people have been dropped from the CSK team. CSK has also retained 19 players for the next season.
The list of excluded players also includes England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes, who has withdrawn from next season’s IPL citing personal reasons.

South African fast bowler Dwayne Pretorius (50 lakh), Sisanda Magala (50 lakh), New Zealand fast bowler Kyle Jamieson (1 crore), Indian player Ambati Rayudu (6.7 crore), Bhagat Verma (20 lakh), Subramshu Senapati (20 lakh) Lakhs), Akash Singh (20 Lakhs) are the other seven players to leave CSK.
Among these, Rayudu had announced his retirement from all formats of cricket after the last season. After this CSK dropped him. Stokes is the most valuable of the departed stars.

CSK had bought Stokes for Rs 16.2 crore in the mini Tara auction before last season. But he could not do justice to this amount. Stokes could play only two matches due to injury. Only 15 runs were scored from this.
By retaining eight players, CSK is left with Rs 32.1 crore in its purse. CSK can bring maximum six players in the team in the auction to be held in Dubai. Of these, three should be foreign players.

Earlier there was doubt whether Dhoni would play for CSK in the next season or not. After last season, his fitness was in doubt as he had knee surgery. But with Dhoni being retained before the auction, it is certain that he will play next time.

MS Dhoni (captain), Deven Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ajinkya Rahane, Sheikh Rashid, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dubey, Nishant Sindhu, Ajay Mandal, Raj Vardhan Hangargekar, Deepak Chahar, Mahish Thiksha, Mukesh Chaudhary, Prashant Solanki, Simarjeet Singh, Tushar Deshpande and Matisha Pathirana.
