Kyle Mayers is a professional cricketer from Barbados who plays for the West Indies national team and the Caribbean Premier League team, Barbados Royals. He was born on September 8, 1992, in Barbados.

Mayers is a left-handed batsman and occasional right-arm off-spinner. He made his international debut for the West Indies in January 2021 and gained recognition during his debut series against Bangladesh where he scored a match-winning double-century in the first test. He became the fifth West Indian batsman to score a double century on his test debut, and only the sixth player overall in the history of the game.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Kyle Mayers played for the Punjab Kings in 2021 and was signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for the 2022 season. He is known for his explosive batting style and ability to hit big sixes, and is considered to be one of the rising stars in West Indies cricket.

LSG’s Mayers and Wood lead the way in the 50-run win over DC

Kyle Mayers and Mark Wood starred for Lucknow Super Giants as they started their campaign with a 50-run victory over DC on Saturday. Mayers smashed 73 runs, while Wood took three crucial wickets to secure the win.

Kyle Mayers dominated the DC bowlers, hitting two boundaries and seven sixes in his blistering innings of 73 off just 38 balls. He shared a 79-run partnership with Deepak Hooda, who contributed 22 runs.

DC fought back by taking quick wickets, but Nicholas Pooran’s 36 off 21 deliveries helped LSG finish on 193/6.

In response, DC got off to a good start, but Wood’s devastating spell turned the game in LSG’s favor. He dismissed Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh with consecutive deliveries before picking up three more wickets to finish with his maiden IPL five-wicket haul.

David Warner scored a half-century, but his slow innings weren’t enough to save DC, who were bowled out for 143 in the 19th over.

LSG’s Ravi Bishnoi and Krishnappa Gowtham also took crucial wickets to seal an impressive victory for the home team.
