Having lost the toss and invited to bat first, Bangladesh put up 245 runs on the scoreboard while losing 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Mushfiqur Rahim led the batting with 66 runs in 75 balls, followed by Mahmudullah’s unbeaten 41 runs and captain Shakib Al Hasan’s 40 runs.

The New Zealand bowlers were equally impressive. Lockie Ferguson took 3 wickets, while Trent Boult and Matt Henry claimed 2 wickets each. Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips secured 1 wicket each.
