The Pakistan team faced some problems with their visas for the World Cup. But now, we have good news. Their visas are sorted out, and they can travel to India for the tournament.
ICC Confirms Visa Approval
The International Cricket Council (ICC) told us on Monday (September 25) that the Indian Government approved the visas for the Pakistan team. The Indian High Commission in Islamabad also informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that they can collect the passports of their team members.
Concerns and Clarifications
Earlier, the PCB was worried about the delay in getting the visas. They even talked to the ICC about it. However, ICC sources say the visa process followed the usual administrative procedure.

Reason for Delay
The delay happened because the PCB submitted their visa applications late. They can’t use the excuse that they couldn’t travel to Dubai because biometric tests are always needed. India and Pakistan have a complex relationship, so it takes time to clear Pakistan visas due to involvement from three Indian ministries, including External Affairs and Home.
PCB’s Concerns
The PCB expressed their disappointment to the ICC, saying Pakistan was treated unfairly. They reminded the ICC of its responsibilities towards the World Cup. The delay caused uncertainty for the Pakistan team, and they had to change their plans and flights.

Visa Approval Received
Later, the PCB confirmed that they got the news of visa approval. The team will leave for Hyderabad, where they play their first game and warm-up matches, on Wednesday (September 27) at 3:30 PM.
Closed-Door Match
Also, the BCCI announced that the official World Cup warm-up game between New Zealand and Pakistan in Hyderabad on September 29 will be played without spectators. Local security agencies advised this decision due to expected large gatherings in the city on that day. Ticket holders will get a full refund.
