Mohammad Kaif joins Blind Cricket as Brand Ambassador

New Delhi: The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) in collaboration with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled has announced former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif as the brand ambassador for the sixth edition of the men’s national T20 cricket tournament. This tournament is also famous as the Nagesh Trophy. As a brand and goodwill ambassador, Mohammad Kaif aims to work for Blind Cricket in India and highlight the unbreakable strength shown by visually impaired players.

This association between Mohammad Kaif and Nagesh Trophy is an important step towards promoting inclusivity and highlighting the achievements of visually impaired cricketers in India. Kaif said, “I am honored and delighted to be associated with the Nagesh Trophy. Cricket for the blind is an inspiring idea and the dedication and talent of the players deserves recognition. I look forward to contributing to the development of cricket for the blind in India.” Looking forward to and want to be a part of their incredible journey.”

The Nagesh Trophy will be held from 23 November to 30 January 2024. The league stage will be played till December 29 whereas, the Super 8 stage matches will be played in January 2024 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Kaif said, “The Nagesh Trophy is a time to celebrate the cricketing talents of visually impaired people and I am sure that the sixth edition will help us identify new talents so that they can be developed into cricketers who can represent India in the future.” Will make my mother proud.” The league matches of the sixth edition of Nagesh Trophy will be played in 7 venues, Jammu, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Kochi (Kerala), Chandigarh, Tripura and Kota (Rajasthan). A total of 28 teams (States/UTs and an Indian Railways team represented by visually impaired persons working in the Railways) will play in the T20 format tournament.
